So we had a little hope, last month, when a potential update of the European version of the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat also known as the GT-I9300 reference, it seems that finally it be seriously questioned, the apparatus being conspicuously absent from the list of eligible models announced.
Reason given, the GT-I9300 has only 1 GB of RAM 2 GB against the 4G model GT-I9305, distributed in the U.S.. A shame, when you consider that not only KitKat need only 512 MB of RAM to run properly and the Galaxy Ace Style, announced last week that offers a datasheet, well below that of the S3 will be powered by KitKat right out.
As you will therefore understand that this is not the fact that it offers only 1 GB of Ram as the Galaxy S3 EU may be eligible to update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat but simply because with one gigabyte of memory, it will simply not be able to make the TouchWiz overlay that accompanies the latest version of Android running.
A problem that could have been avoided if Samsung had made some efforts to alleviate TouchWiz to make less demanding software system resources but it seems that the updates to its former terminal is not in its priorities. A shame when we know that the device has not even two years and that many people still use it.
